R1: "Walmart" must be translated as Wal Mart. The Estée Lauder Group sued Walmart's e-commerce platform, alleging the sale of counterfeit beauty products infringed on a series of trademarks

In February 2026, brands under The Estée Lauder Companies (including Clinique, La Mer, Tom Ford, etc.) filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Walmart in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The complaint alleges that Walmart’s e-commerce marketplace sold counterfeit beauty and fragrance goods bearing Estée Lauder’s registered trademarks, constituting trademark infringement and unfair competition. The plaintiff confirmed the goods purchased were non-genuine, demanding Walmart remove infringing listings, improve seller vetting and pay damages. This case shows major general e-commerce platforms are facing growing liability risks over trademark counterfeiting.
